Magen David Adom’s Global Humanitarian Mission

As Israel’s official Red Cross Society, Magen David Adom (MDA) stands at the forefront of international humanitarian aid. Whether responding to natural disasters, supporting global emergency services, or fostering cross-cultural understanding, MDA’s impact extends far beyond Israel’s borders.

We see it as our duty to share our expertise and resources with any country in need. Our teams have provided life-saving support at the scenes of some of the world’s most devastating disasters — from earthquakes in Haiti and Nepal, to air crashes, droughts, fires, terrorist attacks, and famines. Often among the first to arrive and the last to leave, MDA is committed to helping communities rebuild with dignity and hope.

MDA is not only a responder — we are also educators. We have led initiatives to reform ambulance services in Panama and provided advanced first aid and emergency response training to national societies across the globe. Through our internationally recognised “Training of Trainers” programs, we have empowered organisations such as the Georgian Red Cross, Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, and Jordanian Red Crescent to build stronger, more resilient emergency medical infrastructures.

Our humanitarian efforts extend to the next generation. MDA’s youth delegations have participated in powerful exchange programs with the Bavarian Red Cross and Turkish Red Crescent, promoting collaboration, cultural exchange, and international friendship. With the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), we have hosted global youth seminars in Israel, providing young leaders with firsthand insight into our humanitarian mission and the role MDA plays in the international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

From sharing knowledge to providing boots-on-the-ground support, Magen David Adom believes in a world united by compassion. Our global partnerships, training programs, and emergency responses all reflect our unwavering commitment to saving lives and fostering cooperation — across borders, cultures, and crises.
